The two volumes of
Barney's Favorites are much like the children's television show itself -- cute and sweet, bordering on saccharine and basically only of interest to children. All the songs are catchy in a sing-song manner, and they never say anything offensive, even if the lyrics may be overly simplified and occasionally condescending. Nevertheless,
Barney's Favorites provides hours of listening enjoyment for small children, although parents might find it a little tiring.
