In order to achieve true musical greatness, an aspiring young musician attempts to "unlearn" everything he knows about playing guitar in this semi-experimental directorial debut from Phish bassist Mike Gordon. Though Rick (Jimi Stout) can feel great music brewing within him, his guitar playing leaves much to be desired. Things take a turn for the worse when his father announces plans to send him to military school, and the race is on to find legendary guitar teacher Col. Bruce Hampton (played by himself) and seek out a new approach in order to win entrance into a prestigious music school.
